The Guardian and Observer Charity Appeal 2018

The 2018 Guardian and Observer appeal is supporting five* charities which played a crucial role in securing justice for the Windrush generation, and whose work protects the rights of all those who face their lives being turned upside down by the UK's hostile immigration system.

Your donations will be used by the charities where we and the charity consider that the need is greatest, which could include  legal assistance and advocacy for people who may face destitution, deportation or indefinite detention after being unfairly separated from loved ones, denied the right to work or to access basic services including housing, the NHS and social security.

* Your donations will be processed by Charities Trust (registered charity number 327489) who will deduct 3% of all funds raised (including on gift aid) to cover handling and transaction costs. One of the five named charities is the Law Centres Network: it is possible that instead of / as well as a payment to Law Centres Network, funds will be directly given to law centres. Funds will be distributed among the named organisations (and/or law centres) in proportions determined by us, to use for their general charitable purposes, subject to any restrictions placed on the use of those funds by us.
